PME Power Systems Group Named JOSCAR Sustainability Champion

PME Power Systems Group is proud to have been named the first recipient of the JOSCAR Sustainability Champion Award.

Introduced this year by JOSCAR and Hellios, the Sustainability Champion Award recognises businesses that are making meaningful progress on their sustainability journey. Rather than focusing solely on who is already the most sustainable, the award looks at the steps businesses are taking to improve across environmental, social and governance considerations.

For PME, sustainability in marine engineering is an ongoing process rather than a box to tick.

Through the JOSCAR assessment, we have been able to measure our progress, identify areas for improvement and establish achievable goals for the future. The assessment looks across a wide range of areas, from environmental impact and governance through to social responsibility and relationships with customers and suppliers.

We were particularly proud to be ranked in the top 10% in the Governance Pillar and the top 25% overall.

The depth of information we were able to provide, including several years of supporting data, also played an important role in the assessment and reflects the ongoing nature of our work.

We have already taken a number of steps to reduce our environmental impact, including installing LED lighting and solar panels and introducing electric vehicles.

However, receiving this award is not the end of that journey. It is an opportunity to build on what we have already achieved and continue looking for practical ways to improve sustainability across our marine engineering business.

We would like to thank JOSCAR and Hellios for recognising our progress and for providing a framework that helps businesses turn sustainability ambitions into measurable action.
